Drawing in the style of other Illustrators

An exercise that I thought I'd have a go at before my critique was one that I had been eager to do for a while, and this is to take an existing character of mine, which was in this case my old favourite the 'Butterfly Dragon' and draw it in other illustrative styles.
I feel like doing this would be very beneficial for me as it helps me to get to know my character properly, as with each style I need to consider what makes the character unique and interpret these traits in the style I am mimicking.
I drew my character in my style and in that of Quentin Blake, Tim Burton and Dr Seuss, as well as in the style of Disney and the Japanese video game Okami.

Starting Out 3rd Year

This week begins my final year of Illustration. This year, I would like to look at character design for both animation and children's books, and this will hopefully form the basis of my written enquiry. I could look at many aspects surrounding this topic such as designs themselves and how they lend themselves to both forms of illustration, as well as how characters and traits are expressed in both forms.

I have worked on both animations and children's picture books using characters that I created myself, so I have worked in this area and would love to explore it further in my final year.

Here are scans of my development for my butterfly dragon character
