Rounding Up the Pre Major Project

With the Pre Major Project coming to a close, I feel sad to have to finish a project that I have enjoyed so much. I have focussed primarily on character and concept art design, even including the live brief that I picked up (which I cannot post details for).

For me, my Butterfly Dragon character was one that I was extremely fond of, but felt needed something to make it more exciting. The character in itself is fine, but the world in which i pictured it for my first story and animation needed work, the character had little to interact with. The addition of it's own special world and friends really bought the whole concept to life.

With this project I worked very close to home and did lots of things that I really enjoy. Character designing is something I'm passionate about and I put a lot of care and work into creating some exciting designs. I feel that my abilities with Adobe Photoshop developed substantially across the Pre Major Project and the Live Brief, and the scenes I created to portray my characters had a unique style that I'm very happy with, and I carried this 'block colour' style over into my animation.
The animation itself pushed my ability to animate with the program. Attempting to make backgrounds and scenes that move was a time consuming task and at times had me wondering if I could even do it, and I'm happy it was successful. This is also the first time I have imported pre-made backgrounds and animated over them, and I feel that this is the right thing for me to do in the future as it looks a lot better than creating the background and the animation at the same time.

Overall, I'm very happy with this project and am very happy with what I have produced over the past few months.
